Even the Swiss know that good things come in small packages

Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013

Back in the 1880s, the Swiss Army was in dire need of a compact and sturdy folding knife for various purposes from opening their canned food to disassembling a rifle.  The founder of Victorinox Swiss Army Knife, Karl Elsener came up with the revolutionary idea of creating this marvellous tool with a sophisticated twist. Standard folding knives would have a blade, a can opener as well as a screwdriver. These tools were attached to a pivot point mechanism on the knife’s handle – a very smart and practical way of assembling a folding knife. Elsener then changed this mechanism to a spring mechanism which allowed twice as many tools to be attached to this small package.

Centuries have passed and the Swiss Army knife has evolved into a highly crafted and useful tool which is carried by many professionals in their field. Astronauts, rangers, mountain climbers, and athletes have this small gadget handy in their pockets to assist them in time of need.  But then, out comes our wondrous Victorinox Swiss Army Golf tool – perfectly suited for the golf professionals out there. This tool has ten different useful items in the one little device, making it the most versatile item to help golfers on the course.  Attachments include a one-hand locking Divot Repair tool, Ball Marker, Tee Punch with Groove Cleaner, Bottle opener, Nail file, Blade, Tweezers, Toothpick and even a pair of Scissors. Looking for a gift that will be cherished and pocketed 24/7 by your golf-loving groomsmen? Ta-dah………!!! Big things do come in small packages!

Gadget Gifts for the Handy Groomsmen

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Do you remember the legend secret agent who is totally unique in his every mission, MacGyver? A man who was famous for his application of scientific knowledge and had the tact to make clever little things out of odd bits. And for a fact this brilliant handyman refused to carry a gun on his missions, and instead used common items such as Swiss Army Knives.
This situation strikes a chord on our SwissCard Lite – Ruby that makes exceptional groomsmen gifts for the handy and practical ones! It is packed in a credit card sized box that makes it convenient to be carried around. It contains multifunction tools such as blade, scissors, pen, screw driver, magnifying glass, etc that is totally helpful during emergency situations that he might encounter.
Also a great ushers gift, fathers gift, basically for just anyone into gadget and adventure!

Classic Swiss SD Black Army Knife

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Swiss Army Knife Classic SD BlackI am not a dangerous hunter and I’m not a brave part of the army. I am not much of an outdoor fan or Survivalist and don’t know much about endurance or rescue. Yet, a part of me is pulled with attraction and longing when I spotted this original Victorinox classic pocket tool. It’s plain intense black shade and little compact size was enough to draw my attention and I begin to imagine it cradled on my palm with pride. My fantasies run wild and the thought of having this classic Swiss Army Knife secretly stashed away in my pocket or daily brief, somehow transforms my average ordinary self into a valiant young being.
Reality busts in as I purchased my vivid dream; with every step I take I’m no more the common man who walks to work and hate Mondays. I’m no more the loser who’s late for a date or comes into the restaurant drenched in the rain. Moreover, I don’t need to apologize for not having the “right” tool needed at a particular time. A Blade for survival, a screw driver for sudden show of carpentry skill, tweezers for impulsive hair growth, a pair of scissors to aid awkward moments, a key ring in case I’m too drunk to find my keys, a toothpick for before the goodbye kiss.

I’m more than a hunter, I fight like a man from the army, I’m a survivor, and I’m the man who has it all…!!

Are you a sharp tool?

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Ever since evolution gave man 2 opposing thumbs, men have constantly come up with newer and more practical tools to keep their hands busy.
Is is larger brains over chimps or was it opposing thumbs that gave us a quantum leap forward over our closest cousins? That is a question that is still debated by experts.
Even modern day television continues to enthrall us about our tools, not to mention the DIY channel and Home Improvement’s Tim Allen on Tool Time.
My son is also riveted on tool shows like Handy Manny with his talking tools!
We may or may not have come along way from our ancestors, but we can be sure we men are always on the lookout for a good pocket knife tool to keep handy- making it a hands down successful gift for any man and his groomsmen.

Free Press Release- From Groomsmen to Fathers – Gifts Galore

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

With times looking brighter, special people like father’s deserve special attention. A good gesture to tell dad how special we feel he is is with a gift with a personal touch.United States of America (Press Release) May 5, 2009 — The mid year is fast approaching and seems like we have heard enough about a recession. It is during these times that we remember special and important people in our lives. The all knowing pater, or head family honcho does deserve special attention at times. Now is one such time.
The patriarch typically keeps the family together, contributes significantly to keeping a roof over our heads and hopefully our finances from going underwater.

A gift doesn’t have to be extravagant, it may be something that Dad really needs – a pocket knife or a razor; or maybe something nice like a personalized beer mug or cufflinks. The idea is to show Dad that he is special and to make him feel a little special too- even though he may not be the type to get warm and fuzzy about gifts.

Congratulations to our Navy Seals!

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Our Navy Seals have done us proud. Congratulations to the awesome movie like ending to the pirate saga. U.S. Navy snipers fatally shot three pirates holding an American cargo-ship captain hostage after seeing that one of the pirates “had an AK-47 leveled at the captain’s back,”. This is a bright spot and a feather in our cap, a real feel good piece of news in the otherwise depressing time. Our Navy does us proud!

My nephew is in the Navy on one of the aircraft carriers that sails the Pacific- the USS Nimitz . He is a good kid and I remember giving him an Army Knife for his graduation that he still carries with him. Sort of like a good luck charm! Hooray for the
US Navy !

Rubber Grip 13 function Army Knife

A knife to remember

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

With spring around the corner, I got a call from my “fishbuds”- my fishing buddies that is to go out on a fishing trip. Nothing like the smell of spring, lakes thawed out up here in the midwest and the crisp sunshine to warm up those winter bones. So we did make it out – us guys – and caught a few bluegill and perch. My buddy caught a pretty good sized crappie.
And you may then ask, but will answer first…of course we cook what we catch! I used my new Yukon lock back knife, showed my own initials off to them to clean ‘em fish and I have a great recipe for grilled bluegill. Wow, cant wait to get out again. Btw, if you want that knife too, check it out right here.
